Burgas Celebrates Its Most Successful European Night of Museums – Nearly 20,000 Visitors Across the Region
The 2026 European Night of Museums attracted record interest in Burgas and the wider region. Nearly 20,000 people visited museums, galleries and cultural venues in Burgas, Pomorie, Nessebar, Sozopol, Karnobat, Primorsko, Tsarevo, Sredets and Malko Tarnovo.

Organised by the Burgas 2032 Foundation, the Regional Historical Museum – Burgas, and a wide range of cultural partners, the event reaffirmed the region’s role as a dynamic cultural territory with a distinctly European horizon. The diversity of events and the extensive network of participating locations transformed the Night of Museums into a genuine regional cultural route.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Regional Historical Museum – Burgas, to all partner organisations, and to the dedicated volunteers from Goethe German Language High School, the Academic Nikola Obreshkov High School of Mathematics and Natural Science, and Burgas State University “Prof. Dr Asen Zlatarov”. Their commitment, energy and professionalism turned the event into a true celebration of culture.
The success of this year’s edition is a clear sign of the growing public support for initiatives linked to Burgas’s bid for European Capital of Culture 2032, and of the power of culture to unite communities, institutions and creators.
